The studio is a 1,400-square-foot converted barn on Sierra Heights Road in Bishop, in the Owens Valley of the Eastern Sierra. It is roughly a four-hour drive from Los Angeles and Reno, and a half-day from San Francisco. Visitors are welcome by appointment and should allow at least ninety minutes; the day often begins with a slow walk through the canvases currently in progress.
Original canvases are professionally crated and insured by a specialty fine-art shipper. Average delivery is fourteen business days within the United States and three to five weeks internationally. White-glove placement can be arranged in major U.S. cities. Limited-edition giclée prints ship flat, double-boxed, with a certificate of authenticity.
The studio is a working studio, not a gallery. There is no walk-in retail; visits are scheduled on a limited calendar. Please write with your preferred dates and the composition of your party, and the studio will respond with confirmation and a brief outline of which works are available to view in person.
Inquiries are read by hand and answered in the order they arrive. Most letters receive a reply within two to five business days. During the summer painting season, when Alex is on location up to 180 days a year, please allow a quiet stretch of patience — the studio will write back.

Yes, on a limited basis. Commissions are scheduled annually, often in the winter months, and are painted on location where the subject permits. Please describe the landscape, the intended canvas size, the room or setting it will hang in, and a realistic timeline. The studio will respond with availability and a brief written proposal.
Pricing for individual canvases and limited-edition prints is shared directly with serious inquiries. It is not published on the site. The studio does not negotiate openly and the published paintings page lists which works are currently available.
Every original is crated by a specialty fine-art shipper and travels fully insured. Domestic delivery averages fourteen business days; international runs three to five weeks. Customs paperwork and a certificate of authenticity are included. The studio coordinates the shipper on the collector's behalf; the shipper's invoice is passed through at cost.
Press, editorial, and curatorial inquiries are handled by the studio directly. Please include the publication, the editor, the working deadline, and the story angle. The studio replies to time-sensitive press requests within two business days where possible. High-resolution images and biographies are available for verified journalists on request.
