Twenty-two originals per year, each from a day on the mountain.
Every canvas you see below was started on location in the Eastern Sierra — the Owens Valley, Bishop Creek, the White Mountains, Mono Lake — and refined in studio after the light changed. Nothing here is fabricated from a photograph. Nothing here is giclée'd from a prior canvas. What is released to market each year is exactly what came out of the field, finished by hand in the Bishop barn studio.
Annual output is intentionally capped at twenty-two originals. The cap protects the discipline of the work — a plein-air canvas earns its size by what the day demanded, not by what a frame order required. If a season produces fewer paintings worth signing, fewer are released. That is the catalog you are browsing.
Completion time per canvas, average: forty to eighty hours. Provenance documented for every original. Studio records kept since 1998.

The Taxonomy
How this catalog is organized.
Plates are filed by three quiet categories. None of them is decorative — each one tells a serious collector something useful about provenance and intent.
- Sierra subrange
- The mountain system the canvas was painted within. White Mountains, Mono Lake basin, Bishop Creek watershed, Owens Valley floor. A subrange places the work geographically — useful when a collector is curating a series around a single Sierra view.
- Season
- The actual season the canvas was started in the field. A Bishop Creek October and a Bishop Creek June are two different paintings, even when the granite is the same — the light is different, the palette is different, the field sessions were days apart.
- Year
- Year of completion. Because output is capped at twenty-two originals annually, year is a meaningful collector signal — it tells you what slipped out of the studio, and what was held back to be finished the following spring.

The Procedure
How an inquiry becomes a painting on your wall.
A straightforward four-step process. No high-pressure calls, no time-limited offers, no urgency language. Originals are held quietly while you decide.

Inquiry
Send a note through the contact page naming the plate (or plates) you wish to see in person. Replies arrive from the studio within two business days, with provenance documents, studio photographs, and a current condition report attached.

Private Viewing
A viewing is arranged — in person at the Bishop studio, or via high-resolution photographs and a live video walk-through for collectors at a distance. The canvas is yours to study without obligation for fourteen days.

Hold & Payment
Once reserved, the canvas is taken off the catalog. Payment is by bank wire or check; a written invoice and signed bill of sale are issued. Installment arrangements are available for canvases above a certain scale.

Crated Shipping
The painting is crated by a fine-art handler in Bishop, fully insured, and shipped worldwide. Average U.S. transit is fourteen business days; international shipments run two to five weeks with customs documentation provided in advance.
